4 Vintage B/W Glossy Photos of the Beautiful Actress and Singer Jeanette MacDonald (June 18, 1903-January 14, 1965) and her Husband- the Actor Gene Raymond. All Photos have various degrees of Damage- Please read the Condition Section of each Carefully. The Photos are: JEANETTE & GENE CBS SPOT PHOTO. Nice 1937 Photo featuring Jeanette and her husband, Actor Gene Raymond. Close-up Pose, with their Heads touching and her hand on his shoulder! Photo measures 7 7/8" x 10 1/16". Back has attached paper Caption which reads: "CBS Photo - Released 9/29/37. Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond will be heard over the WABC-Columbia network on Sunday, October 3 from 7:00 to 7:30 P.M., EST. They will be heard in a radio version of Sigmund Romberg's 'Student Prince', on the 'Vick's Open House' program". In Pencil is: "MacDonald, Jeanette & husband". In Ink are: "5.00" "3.00" and "25c". Stamped is: "from the collection of.....". Photo is in Poor/Fair Condition with age, slight curl, yellowing, stains, cornertip bends and wear, edge wear, much wear seen primarily in reflected light- including scratches and creases, and- on the back- glue residue, scuffs, stains, and other wear. Wonderful Image of the Couple- Gene is in Formal Attire- Scarf, and All!, and Jeanette is wearing a Fur Stole! Quite Stylish! Photo measures 7 15/16" x 10 1/16". Back has written in Blue Ink: "Gene Raymond Jeanette MacDonald Sto( I can't read it) Concert" and a circled "23". Stamped are: "May 36 " "Dell Publishing Company, Inc. Not for publication elsew" and 2 "from the Collection of...."s. In Ink: "5.00". In Pencil: "B." and "p.4", circled. Photo is in Fair/Good Condition with age, slight curl, edge wear, slight browning, cornertip wear- including one with bend and damage, other wear- including scratches- seen primarily in reflected light, what looks like purple Ink under area of Jeanette's Jaw (can be seen in close-up Photo, below), and- on the back- scotch tape and smudges. He gives her a suitable charm after each of her pictures. When Jane Wyman reads mystery stories, she tapes down the last chapter to keep herself from peeking. Watch for Bettye Avery, 19-year-old brunette from Tulsa, Okla., whom Sam Goldwyn has higned to a long term contract. she is amazingly beautiful, and will be groomed for stardom."
