Jeannette Rankin (1880-1973) autographed typed letter dated 1942. Rankin was the first female member of Congress in 1917. She was twice a congresswoman 1917-1919 and 1941-1943. She was a well known pacifist and leader for woman's causes in America. She voted no for our entry into World War 1 and World War 2. She was the only no vote for World War 2. Letter is in superb condition with very readable signature. It has 2 mailing folds.
