Jeff Young Face Jug. This neat piece from my personal collection was made by Catawba Valley potter Jeff Young of Vale, NC. I bought this pot from him at the Hickory, NC Pottery show in March 2011. This piece stands 12 inches tall and is 6 inches wide from ear to ear. I think he described this glaze as "iron oxide" which gives a rusty black apperance. Mint condition without chips or cracks. The Catawba Valley Traditional method of pottery making is a more intense and time consuming process but produces a truly unique and authentic folk style of pottery that can be collected and treasured. Each piece is clearly marked with Jeff's unique indication.
