e Original 1966 Psychedelic Fillmore Concert Poster / Flyer Jefferson Airplane with Grace Slick and The Great Society Size- 8 1/2" x 11" This extremely rare poster was printed for a benefit concert that took place at Bill Graham's Fillmore Auditorium on September 11th 1966 featuring Jefferson Airplane, The Great Society, and Blues great Big Mama Thornton . This historic concert was the last public performance by The Great Society, because the band's lead singer Grace Slick jumped ship immediately after it to join Jefferson Airplane (which was on the same bill). It was a pivotal moment for the whole development of the San Francisco psychedelic music scene of the 1960's. 1960's Fillmore-Era concert posters and flyers for acts like Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Moby Grape, and Blue Cheer are becoming extremely scarce. This vintage piece of Rock memorabilia is in excellent condition without major flaws apart from an original fold crease. T also is a letter on the reverse side dated September 4th 1966, handwritten by a female student at Berkeley to her boyfriend back home. Rather than being a flaw, I feel that this beautifully written letter is a touching memento of the time and place, and if anything enhances the value of the poster.
