This elegant key on its original wood base was found several years ago as pictured -- the sounder and binding posts long gone. Unfortunate, because the sounder was as distinctive in design as the key. This was no ordinary practice set; its all brass components suggest a commercial or railroad application. The key is complete and all original. T are no markings on the key itself but on the wood base in a rectangle is "Jerome Redding & Co. / Boston, Mass." and under that "20 ohms." Base size is 5 3/8" x 8 7/16", with a couple of dings and a lot of grunge -- refinishing is the next owner's choice. I've held on to this kob hoping to find the right sounder. Perhaps t's one in your attic awaiting the right key. But even without the sounder, the key itself is uncommon -- I know of only a few, one being in the National Electronics Museum near Baltimore.
