JERRY BROWN FACE JUG (and bonus Jerry Brown mug!) Great addition to your pottery collection! Up for auction is a Jerry Brown stoneware face jug with cobalt decoration. The stoneware body, decorated with cobalt on the brows, eyes and mustache, has a lot of character and presence . It's in great condition, with no chips or losses. A firing crack on the top of the handle, is not at all structural, and isn't even visible from the front. I've included a close-up of the firing crack, but the photo makes it look worse than it is. Measuring 5 1/2" high x 6 1/4" wide x 5" deep, it will definitely hold it's own among larger pieces. Inscribed on bottom: Jerry Brown Hamilton, Al. 5/91. This face jug comes with a bonus piece: a beautiful Jerry Brown mug! It is also stoneware with cobalt decoration. It's a great size, very sturdy, and the handle feels natural and comfortable in your hand. The glaze is thick and runny in areas, really adding to the beauty of the piece. A double thin cobalt line around the middle of the jug gives it a simple but elegant decorative touch A blotch of darker glaze on the top of the handle only adds to the piece, further illustrating that it is hand-made and unique. The mug measures 4 1/2" high x 5 3/4" wide (at widest point). Inscribed on bottom: Jerry Brown 2-90. Jerry Brown's mill in Hamilton, Alabama, is the read more
