Jesse Redwin Bardin American Abstract Art Oil Painting on Canvas Original Jesse Redwin Bardin (1923-1997), from Elloree , South Carolina and was celebrated for his evocative modern art abstract paintings that seem to glow from within. Bardin studied at the University of South Carolina and then at the Art Students League in New York with Will Barnet and Jasper Johns. The American Federation of Arts selected Bardin to represent South Carolina in a two-year traveling exhibition, 50 Artists-50 States. His work has been shown throughout the United States and Europe and is included in the permanent collections of the Columbia Museum, Pennsylvania State University, Williams College Museum of Art, the Mint Museum and the Hunter Museum among others. The painting is signed J. Bardin on the lower left and measures approximately 24” x 30”. The painting has a few small scuffs/scratches on the upper left side (see photo) ; the frame has some scuffs and a chip on the bottom left. Good condition overall.
