Original German made by Distronics for the UK Blanco Y Negro records 1992 4 track CD EP (NEG 57 CD 4509-90232-2) in slimline jewel case featuring an actual pressed gold CD (like Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs 24 karat gold CD's, pretty much the exact same "hue" of gold to this CD pressing as those are)AMG REVIEW: The Jesus & Mary Chain's 1992 Almost Gold EP contains the storming title track, which was taken from the band's comeback album of sorts (Honey's Dead) and is one of the album's highlights, plus three more songs. The acoustic version of "Teenage Lust," one of the weaker tracks on Honey's Dead, strips away most of the menace of the loud and nasty electric version and just leaves some creepy lyrics and one of Jim Reid's most lascivious vocals. "Reverberation (Doubt" is an electro-punk version of a 13th Floor Elevators song that pretty much steamrolls the melody but leaves some cool guitar effects in its place. It also sounds like they sampled the original. Either that or they did a spot-on job of re-creating the Elevators' unique guitar sound. "Don't Come Down" is a sweet-sounding (though the lyrics are as nasty as always) acoustic-based ballad that presages the band's next record, 1994's mostly acoustic Stoned & Dethroned. This was the third single off of Honey's Dead and the general weakness of the B-sides is reflective of that. For completists only. GRADING: I pretty much use the Goldmine & Record Collector magazines standards for grading, I can send you a link for details in depth about record/cover grading. My other items like CD's & books go by the same grading system as a general guide. I've been selling records & CD's professionally for over 20 years now & I try to be accurate in my grading (read my feedbacks on that, I rarely mis-grade, records are always VISUALLY graded only unless stated). DETAILED CD PACKING & RELATED INFO: Thick double sets count as 2 CD's for shipping but double CD's in slim cases count as just one CD if t is no outer box on them), box sets & multi discs shipping will be in the description. I send first class CD's usually in bubble mailers & put thick plastic 4 mil sleeves on them (if they aren't shrink wrapped already) & are less likely to crack that way. I replace most of the jewel cases on stuff that isn't really clean before I send them out so they tend to look brand new. I also offer cheaper shipping overseas shipping without the jewel cases (see my shipping rate page in my ebay store for current rates). Cutouts/promo marks/inserts & stuff like this is listed in the description if it applies. The ebay generated info is mainly for track listings, sometimes the pressing date or country is off, I do my best in the first paragraph description to state if it is a different pressing or country of orgin or other things than ebays info which may contradict some parts of the actual CD I've listed (track listing itself will be accurate in MY description though).
