NASA Apollo 8 Jim Lovell Signed Hat This listing is for a hat that commemorates the flight of NASA's Apollo 8, the first manned spaceflight to leave Earth orbit and first to return from Earth after voyaging to another celestial body, the moon. The hat features the mission insignia of Apollo 8, with the names of the crew of the spaceflight - Borman (Frank F. Borman, II), Lovell (James A. "Jim" Lovell, Jr.) and Anders (William A. Anders.) This hat is signed on the brim by James "Jim" Lovell with the inscription "Apollo 8, 13." The hat comes in a plastic wire frame. This hat is circa 1994 and the signing of this hat is referenced in this article . There is a light brown stain about an inch long towards the right side of the brim of the hat, and a very small one just to the right of the upper portion of the "J." Otherwise, the hat is still in excellent shape on the whole, though with a few loose threads in places.
