Jimmy Lile from Russellville , Arkansas, was lovingly known as the Arkansas Knifesmith. While making quality knives for many years, Lile was catipulted to knife making fame by designing the knife made famous by John Rambo's character in the various Rambo movies as played by Slyvester Stalone. This is the model known as the Big 7. A drop point hunting knife very similar to the same style made by Bob Loveless. Who designed it first ?? We don't know. This knife was made during the period when Lile marked his knives with this Script style ( actually his wife Marilyn did it ) which was from about 1970 to 75. It is in excellent condition showing carefull use and sharpening having a keen and sharp edge. It has a 4" blade of 3/16th stock of D2 steel. It has a tapered tang, a Lile trademark., and micarta handles with a thong hole. The sheath is a replacement of the same style used by Jimmy. While mint examples of script signed period knives command 4 figures +..... this very nice used example will be sold to the highest bidder with no reserve. Please see our other auctions for more great knives and other collectibles. I should add that the blade in the first pic appears dark. This is because of poor lighting and picture taking ability on the part of the seller (me). The obverse of the blade is as bright and shiny as the reverse side in pic # 2. International bidders, please be sure your country allows the import of this knife. We will not falsify customs documents. We buy sell and trade and love to talk knives . Please call with any questions. Normal shipping is by USPS Priority Mail , insured.
