Hello fellow e-bayers, we have for sale A JOB LOT OF 9 issues of COMMANDO - WAR STORIES IN PICTURES. All come with front and back covers attached (albeit issue 284 has two staples through the front and is missing its first interior page). All are marked with the cover price 1/- and are originals, not reprints. No 178 HAMMER OF THE JAPS - no creases to front or back cover, no spinal tears. Edges of internal pages browning with age but no tears or creases.(apart from some production edge tears caused by the page sorters at time of printing) No 179 THE SCARLET SERGEANT - slight corner crease top right corner front cover, no other creases to front/back cover. Internal page edges browning with age, but with no creases or tears ( page 20 top left corner of page folded over but not across strip) No 181 RED BERET - No creases to front or back cover - slight crease to spine 10mm across. Internal pages browning with age at edges but no creases or tears - again only slight [production tears from page sorters at edge of some pages) No 188 NIGHT PROWL No creases to front cover. Back cover diagonal crease rising from l/h edge from about 50mm up from bottom edge to top edge. Spinal crease c 10mm from top. Internal pages browning with age at edges, no tears or creases. No 190 THEY CALLED HIM YELLOW No creases front or back covers . No tears or creases to internal pages. Slight browning at edges from age. No 248 BLIND FURY Corner crease bottom r/h front cover ( c 20mm across diagonal) . foxing ? blemish in the C of commando in title c 6mm across. Back cover no creases or tears, slight 2mm dig with colour loss. Internal pages browning at edges with age, no tears or creases. No 284 WALRUS PATROL Front Cover :Staple at top left and bottom left near spine, through cover, although most of cover shows as attached, with c 20mm tear top and bottom edge - which is why I think the staples were put in ( not by me I hasten to add) . Creasing across top right corner down over plane wing likewise crease across base of front cover- width of cover (photo 9 shows cover). Red "4" felt tipped across lower wing of plane. Back cover top left corner turned over c 15mm across diagonal. Scrape c 8mm long 2mm across, covers letters LR in back title showing colour loss.. Long diagonal crease from top to near bottom. Internal pages : title page missing ( numbering begins at 5 instead of 3 as it normally would) next ten pages have top right corner turned over , c 10mm across diagonal, but does not intrude on strip. Pages browning with age , but free of creases and tears ( other than those already mentioned and some page sorting tears near edges). No 351 IRON CROSS TOMMY . Corner creasing to bottom r/h front cover.No creases back cover. Two 10mm spine tears top and bottom front cover. Inside front cover and title page- evidence of red pencil scribble having been rubbed out ( scribble being as you would get if you gave a two year old a pencil and a piece of paper) I have tried to photo this in pictures 10 &11 ) No other pages are affected. Biro'd letter R top r/h title page ( see photo 10). Back cover has 10mm biro mark from top edge downwards. Internal pages browning with age at edges, no tears or creases. No 419 THE GUN Front cover - no creases - 5mm spinal tear top left. Red felt number 4 across letter E in title. ( see photo 12). Back cover, diagonal crease c 100mm across middle of back cover. Internal pages off white, slight browning at very edges, a couple of page sorter tears, otherwise not creased and not torn.
