This is a 19cm "Opalique" Bowl by Joblings of Sunderland, made during the 1920s to compete with Lalique Opalescent glass. It is unmarked except for the Reg no 777133.The design is Pine Cones in relief.I have seen examples of this design in black glass and interestingly, the item produced from this mould prior to this one was obviously black as there is the faintest sliver of black glass on the base where the foot has been ground flat. Imagine a line drawn by a pencil about 4cm long This example is 19cm wide and 7.5cm high. It is in perfect condition.
