Joe Franklin and Laurie Palmer SIGNED "The Marilyn Monroe Story" (Greenberg, 1953) 1st Edition Signed by Joe Franklin, an American radio and television personality! "Rare first edition of the highly elusive first collectible book devoted exclusively to the now legendary model, actress and sex symbol, illustrated with 30 pages of black-and-white photographs." A fantastic collector's item! Signature has been certified by Global Authentication Inc., the premier authentication service! Hardcover with an authentication sticker on the half-title page (GAI # GV 468891). GAI tamper proof sticker is attached to the reverse side of the title page. Certificate of authenticity included. Also included is a picture of Marilyn Monroe as a baby that was clipped from an unknown newspaper. Inscription with signature reads, "For Joseph McMahon, always in friendship, Joe Franklin 1974 WOR WOR-TV". Book has aged relatively well. Boards are stained and rubbed somewhat on outsides. Edges of boards and spine are rubbed. Outside corners of boards have small tears. Head and tail of spine are bumped. Pastedowns and end pages are stained or age toned. Pages of the text block show only slight signs of age toning. T is a crease in the top of page 57 and what appears to be a finger print on the edge of page 35. Page 20 has a bit of transfer from the photograph on page 21. Spine appears to be slightly sprung, but none of the pages are coming out. Yellow boards. Pages have no inscriptions or remainders.
