Vintage b/w, 8 x10. Joe Frisco (1889-1958), born Louis Wilson Joseph, was a dancer and vaudeville comedian who appeared in several films of the 1930s and 1940s. He made his Broadway debut in the Ziegfield Follies of 1918. Frisco's trademark dance, dubbed "the Jewish Charleston" was a stage strut with derby hat and cigar to the tune of "Darktown Strutters' Ball", backed by a chorus line of beautiful girls with scanty costumes, derby hats and prop cigars of their own. Most of Frisco's comedy monologues - featuring his genuine stutter -concerned his all too real gambling addiction. Lower right corner, small piece is missing, otherwise, fine condition for it's age.Be good to yourself and others...
