You are bidding on one (one) Boston Bruins jersey featuring the name & number of former # 1 pick (and current captain of the San Jose Sharks), Joe Thornton. The B's home white jersey (at least it was back in 1997) is a high-end replica -- it's not the same type that would be worn on-ice, though there is a fight strap -- and comes complete with original tags. It looks very impressive as it's loaded up with patches -- the team logo is on the front, the Bruins' grizzly bears on at the shoulders and of course the name and numbers (on the back & sleeves); all of the patches were stitched on professionally by CCM -- this IS NOT a custom job that was done, the jersey is factory direct. Thornton's signature is on the back of the jersey (while he wore # 19, the number 97 signifies the year he was drafted by Boston, and the autograph is confined to the 9), and features the inscription "1st Pick 97"; it's numbered 87 out of 97. The jersey comes with a certificate of authenticity from Channel Sports, from whom I obtained the jersey; the company listed it through 's auction site during the league's shutdown back in 2004-05, and I was able to win it at that time. It has not been displayed, and has been kept stored in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. With the Stanley Cup Finals in full swing, and Boston roaring back to tie up the series at 2 at the time of this writing, now's a great time to show off your Boston pride with this great looking sweater!
