Johann Conrad Gilbert (Southeastern Pennsylvania, active 1775-1810), watercolor reward of merit depicting the Easter rabbit, 3" x 4". One of the earliest American portrayals of the Easter rabbit. A similar example is in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg.
