Estate find...This neat tobacco jar/humidor shows an impish young black lad perched atop a cigar box. It has all the features of the Maresh works but bears no mark. The detail is incredible including the separated fingers on both hands, the space between the hand and the chin, and the wrinkled shirt. Photos don't adequately show the detail, but it is remarkable. The top of the humidor box comes off and has a broken 'lip' as shown in the photo. However the break is not visible when the top is on the box. Humidor measures 7" wide x 3" deep x 3 1/2" high; figurine atop box measures 5" high x 5" wide. A superb addition to your figurine or Black Americana collection or just as a conversation piece.
