Each ring measures approximately 4" inches outer diameter and 1/2" thick all weighing 2 pounds. The round cardboard box is labeled as Genuine John Crane Products, Packings, 1 Set #805MBF, 2-1/2 x 3-19/16 x 8 Rings, Instr. Inside, Crane Packing Co., 6400 W. Oakton St., Morton Grove, Ill., 60053 . The tap lid has been removed and t is no instructions inside.

From the John Crane Catalog: "John Crane" 805 packing is manufactured from long fibre Canadian asbestos yarn by the braid over braid method. Each strand of yarn is impregnated with a heat-resisting lubricant and graphite, resulting in a packing that is soft and pliable.
