JOHN DENVER "WESTERN HORSEMAN" MAGAZINE VERY RARE Magazine with a 4-page article detailing John's famous horseback riding adventure with The Durango Mountain Caballeros in the 1980's in the San Juan Mountains of Western Colorado. It was on this trip that John learned to "sign" The Lord's Prayer in Indian Sign Language. This article contains nine wonderful photographs taken during the trip, one of the best being JD relaxing on Ute Lake in the small inflatable rubber raft he brought along for fly fishing! Please note that although this magazine is over 20 years old, it is in MINT condition and a real collector's item. *** SPECIAL BONUS ITEMS *** DVD OF JOHN'S LONDON CONCERT AT THE APOLLO, VICTORIA THEATER + ADDITIONAL FABULOUS FOOTAGE! This is a VERY SPECIAL concert which took place in London in the early 1980's. Probably one of his very best ever. John sang many familiar songs, and many that we seldom heard. And stories! Some really great stories, including sharing the details of his horseback riding adventure with The Durango Mountain Caballeros. John talks about learning how to "sign" The Lord's Prayer in Indian sign language, then proceeds to perform it for the appreciative audience, and although he of course takes it seriously, he also injects a LOT of humor into it as he verbally explains each sign he is making. VERY entertaining, of course! He then talks more about the trip and explains how he came to write the song "Durango Mountain Caballeros" while on the trip. He then sings this really beautiful song. During this concert, JD performs... * Rocky Mountain High * Sunshine on my Shoulders * Toledo, Ohio * It's A Sin to Tell a Lie - John tells the audience that this was his Mom's favorite song and shares the story of how he surprised her one time at Carnegie Hall in New York when he sang it onstage! * Bells of Rhymny - JD performs this Pete Seeger song on a 12 string guitar and tells us how this was always his "solo" song when he sang it with the Mitchell Trio. * As mentioned above, "The Lord's Prayer" performed in Indian Sign Language.
