Eucalyptus Trees on the Califonia Coast by John Earl Coolidge 1937. 20" X 24" Professionally Cleaned and restored, (three minor pinholes repaired), New Frame.
Born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, John Coolidge became a landscape painter and illustrator. He studied art at Stanford University in 1905 and then studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and with William Merritt Chase, Cecilia Beaux, Thomas Anshutz, and J. Francis Smith. In 1909, Coolidge moved to Los Angeles and worked as a commercial artist and instructor at the Otis Art Institute. He was a member of the California Art Club and the Laguna Beach Art Association.
