"The Lives of the III (three) Normans, Kings of England: William the first. William the second. Henry the first.Written by I. H. (John Hayward)Imprinted at London by R. B. (Robert Barker, printer of the FIRST King James Bible in 1611.) Anno 1613."And just to make it more delightful, at the top of the title page in an ancient hand the date " 14 June 1613 " which pretty much tells you when the first owner bought it, I would think. The binding is very early, and though the leather is crackled, and the hinges cracked, the cords are thick and strong and the book is certainly readable with careful handling. Gilt decorations on spine with title patch that reads "3 NORMAN KINGS".I have given you the first couple pages, so you can see the writing style. It is quite readable and entertaining.
