RARE grouping from Pittsburgh PA Mayor John S. Herron.1) framed 9" X 7" photo of John S. Herron draped with black & gold (Pittsburgh's colors) ribbons. Photo itself appears to be about 3" X 5" with perhaps studio identification at bottom right corner. Framing appears to have been professionally done. On back is short article about Mr. Herron's political career.2) two piece suspension medal hallmarked Herren Bros. Pgh. Medal is gold toned although there is no precious metal markings. Medal is hung against a black & gold silk ribbon. Medal and ribbon is 5" long. Top part has eagle and is inscribed with Herron's name. Bottom part says City of Pittsburgh Mayor's Committee of Welcome to Homecoming Troops. At bottom of the medal is a keystone with date 1919 on it.Both pieces are in VERY GOOD condition and are a part of Pittsburgh's political history. This is certainly a ONE-OF-A-KIND find.We will insure this purchase
