DETAILS: Hardcover 1938, 1st edition, published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 342 pages. A history and exposure of modern Spiritualism, Mediums, Telephathy, Mind Reading, Clairvoyance, etc. all fraudulenty performed using the tricks of the Magician. The Davenport Brothers, the Fox Sisters, the Boston Medium Margery, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc., and the arch enemy of these Frauds; Harry Houdini! This copy is from the library of John Mulholland; his personal copy. Inside page is dated August 23, 1941. Has an inscription by Mulholland to a family member in which he refers to himself as "The Black Spirit" CONDITION: Book is in FINE condition with NEAR FINE dust jacket. Dust jacket has faint shelf wear. Book itself is exceptionally clean. Interior pages are white, sharp corners, spine is tight and square. Very well maintained. Overall, an exceptionally clean book. Most likely amongst the cleanest copies of this title in existence.
