1982'S John Wayne - American is effanbee's final salute to "The Duke" who appears as a gallant "protector" of the early frontier. The younger and taller one year edition is authentically dressed in a Cavalry Officer's uniform. The attention to detail in these Legend dolls is amazing. The uniform has gold buttons and belt buckle. T are gold crossed swards and gold braid on his cavalry hat. John is wearing a sun faded bandana, suspenders and a regulation pistol at his waist.

This John Wayne tribute was made in 1982 only. When this doll was originally sold, one third of the royalties went to the John Wayne Memorial Cancer Research Fund at U.C.L.A.
