For this special auction- John Wesley's Famous, "Sermons on Several Occaisions" This is a 4 Volume Set-Published in London in 1796-Stated 5th Edition. All 4 Volumes are in excellent condition-7" by 4" as follows Volume 1- 16 Sermons-252 pages Volume 2- 15 Sermons-267 pages Volume 3-17 Sermons Volume 4-7 Sermons-then following are special discourses on Advice to Methodists-concerning dress Duties of Husbands and Wives Directions to Children Directions to Servants Christian Perfection-Dated October 16, 1759 Christian Instruction. Many of the Sermons in this set are dated-going back before 1760. The first volume has the preface and index. 2nd has an index also. Volume 3 has a sermon by brother Charles. Wow!!! 56 Sermons plus the discourses of the founder of Methodism!!! Condition-This is the best set I have ever seen!!! Exterior-Leather covered boards have no crack or weakening of the joints. Some small edge wear and occaisional chips and scuffs. Fine + Interior-A name has been stamped on the blank front ep. There is some spotting in volume 1. A rip on the preface page on volume 1. Volumes 3 and 4 look like they were unread. The spine label, Title and numbers look great. This is a tremendous early set of Wesley's Sermons. Reasonable start with a buy it now added.
