Offered is a fabulous service in the Johnson Brothers The Friendly Village Transfer pattern in Brown with red and green. This pattern dates to the late 1960 - 70 so this set is about 40-50 years old. This pattern was created from hand-engraved copper plates, and then applied to durable ironstone slip. The underglaze decoration and strong resistance to chipping adds durability to the elegant design .There are 55 pieces altogether in this listing. There are some additional service pieces that I will be listing separately. There are no chips or cracks to any of the pieces with the exception of the Salt Shaker that has a crack. The set does not appear to have had much if any use. I do not see utensil marks on these pieces. This is a beautiful set of vintage dinnerware. There are 52 pieces consisting of the following: 8 Dinner plates (the school house) that are 10 inches in diameter. Very minor crazing on the back side of two plates. 8 Bread and Butter plates (sugar maples) that are 6 1/8 inches in diameter. 8 Square Cereal or soup bowls (covered bridge) that are 6 1/8" square and 1 3/4 inches deep. 8 Square Salad Plates (covered bridge) that are 7 3/4 inches. 8 Saucers (the ice house) that are 5 1/2 inches in diameter. 8 Cups(the ice house) that are in 4 1/2 inches from handle to cup edge, 3 1/2 inches in diameter for the cup itself read more
