Johnson Brothers White Ironstone TRACERY Platter 1883 We are pleased to offer this gorgeous white ironstone platter in the TRACERY pattern manufactured by the Johnson Brothers China Company. Johnson used lightweight ironstone with faintly impressed scroll and leaf designs for this Tracery shape circa 1883. An illustration of the Tracery design in shown in Jean Wetherbee's "White Ironstone: A Collector's Guide" page 143. This large scalloped serving platter measures 16" by 12" in diameter. It has a very deep well preventing meat juices from spilling over. It is in excellent condition for its age with no nicks, chips, crazing or cracks. It is hard to capture the beauty of the embossed leaf and scroll design in the photo, but the lucky buyer will be thrilled with this piece.
