This medium-large figurine of a girl holding a bunny rabbit is part of the "Little Pets" Series and was made between 1960 - 1962. She is pictured on page 47 in the brownish-gray book, "Josef Originals, Figurines of Muriel Joseph George". This particular piece is extremely rare and hard to find, especially in such nice condition as this one is! This girl with the bunny rabbit would make a wonderful addition to a Josef collection! This lovely girl is holding a darling white bunny rabbit in her right arm. She is wearing a crisp white dress with a very full skirt. It has a sky blue pinafore apron over it with big ties in the back. The dress has long sleeves with ruffles at the ends. There is a lot of shiny, 24 karat gold on this figurine that makes her sparkle and shine! She has a large shiny gold bow in her hair. The hem of her dress and the hem of her pinafore apron are both edged in shiny gold scalloped lines. Her necklines, waist and sleeves are edged in gold. She has lots of applied, 3-dimensional pink and blue flowers on her dress and pinafore apron. Each of these flowers has a gold center. The flowers are surrounded by shiny gold leaves and vines. This beautiful girl has strawberry blonde or warm auburn hair with brown accents. It is pulled up into a high ponytail and soft bangs fall upon her forehead. Her face is expertly hand-painted with rosy cheeks, downcast black eyes & eyelashes, delicate eyebrows and cherry red lips. The white bunny rabbit has pink ears and a pink nose & mouth. He has black eyes, eyebrows and whiskers. This girl and her bunny rabbit are so sweet and precious! This figurine is in very good, vintage condition. The girl had a glaze flake on the top of her pony tail that I have touched up with matching paint and clear glaze and you can hardly tell it was ever there. Besides that she is in perfect condition everywhere else! "Josef Originals C" is clearly inscribed in the clay on the bottom of the piece. (My camera did not want to focus on it very well, but it’s clearly there). There is also the remnants of the oval, black & silver "Japan" foil sticker on the bottom. This girl is approximately 5" tall and 4 1/2" wide and has a glossy glaze. Her colors are rich and vibrant and the glaze and gold gilt are bright and shiny. This is such a beautiful piece and so rare and hard to find!
