This beautiful "Norway" doll is very rare and very hard to find! She is from the Josef Originals "Little Internationals" Series. "Norway" is pictured on Page 39 in the pink book, "Josef Originals, Charming Figurines". Norway has had some repairs, thus her low starting price. Norway is wearing a pretty, rose-pink skirt that is very full. Over that she is wearing a white pinafore with a black vest and black along the curved bottom. It ties in the back with a large, white bow. The apron has light blue above the black stripe with three tiny pink flowers with gold centers and shiny, 22 Kt. gold spaghetti trim on either side. She is wearing a white blouse with a ruffled collar and long sleeves. The ends of her sleeves are trimmed in gold. A shiny gold shoe peeks out from underneath her skirts. She has a black cap on her head with three more little pink flowers with gold centers on it. Her brunette hair is in two braids and they are tied with large shiny gold bows. Her face is expertly hand-painted with black eyes & lashes, delicate eyebrows and cherry red lips. She is just adorable! Norway is approximately 4" tall and 3" wide and has a glossy glaze. The bows on her braids were broken in the front when I got here so I made new bow fronts for them out of ceramics and painted them with gold gilt to match. My gold is does not quite match the 22 Kt. gold of her original bows, but it's close. Also, the bow on the back of her dress was missing part of it's ribbon so I made a new piece for that out of ceramics and painted and glazed it to match. I did the best I could on these repairs, but you can see where I joined the bow on the back of her dress and you can see my brushstrokes where I painted it white to match. I had to take a picture without the flash for this to show up. Also, there is a very tiny dark smudge underneath her left eye. This was done at the factory and won't come off. (Please look closely at my photos. Be aware that the enlarged views are bigger than life). Other than these things she is in very nice, vintage condition everywhere else. She still displays very nicely. "Josef Originals C (with a circle around it)" is clearly inscribed in the clay on the bottom of the piece. There is also an oval, black & gold "Japan" sticker on the bottom. Norway is very rare and hard to find so I hope someone will want her in spite of her repairs. Most all of my items are vintage, which means they have been pre-owned and many are quite old. I try to accurately describe any flaws I see, but I am human and may miss something, so please enlarge my photos and look closely at them.
