Wow! You almost never see this "Little International" up for sale! She is extremely rare! This is "Panama". She is pictured on page 28 in the blue book, "Josef Originals, A Second Look", where she was erroneously labeled as "Greece". Panama is probably THE rarest of the Little International figurines. This one is in excellent condition, too!Miss Panama is lovely in a green skirt and a ruffled, pink & white blouse. There is a lot of shiny, 24 karat gold on this piece that makes her sparkle and shine! Her rounded neckline and the bottoms of her ruffled sleeves are edged in gold and the ruffle along the bottom of her skirt is also edged in gold all the way around. A shiny golden shoe peeks out from underneath her skirts. There is a large, white flower on the front of her skirt that has a gold, spaghetti trim center and shiny gold leaves around its petals. Panama has large, pink tropical flowers in her hair on either side of her head and these each have a gold center. Her lovely blouse has tiers of ruffles and elbow-length sleeves. She is holding up her skirts with her right hand and you can see white petticoats underneath her skirt. Her hair is brunette with soft bangs falling on her forehead. Her face is expertly hand-painted with rosy cheeks, black eyes and eyelashes, delicate eyebrows and cherry red lips. She is a very beautiful figurine!Panama is in excellent, vintage condition. There are some markings on the bottom but that doesn't show when she is upright. "Josef Originals C" is signed on the bottom in black ink. There is also an oval, black & silver "Japan" foil sticker on the bottom. Panama is approximately 4" tall and 3 1/4" wide and has a glossy glaze. Her colors are rich and vibrant and the gold gilt and glaze are bright and shiny.
