JOSEPH LOWNES CLASSIC AMER COIN SILVER CREAMER c1790 Presented is a handsome American coin silver creamer by the Philadelphia silversmith Joseph Lownes. Lownes was born in 1758 and died in 1820. The creamer has a classic lobed body with threaded decoration on the rim and the handle. This piece was made in the late 1700s, perhaps as late as 1810. The creamer is hallmarked on the underside with J. Lownes for Joseph Lownes. The creamer is in great overall condition. T have probably been a few old repairs which are visible on the interior, but they are not very noticeable from the exterior, except from the underside as seen in the photographs. T is also some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is extremely minor. T are no dents, no dings, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no breaks. The creamer measures 5 3/8 inches from handle to spout and 4 1/2 inches tall. The weight is 184.1 grams or 6.5 ounces.
