Joseph Q Whipple Mallard Duck Wildlife Shadow Box Painting Diorama Beautiful Mallard duck in relief on painted background by Joseph Quinn Whipple (1917-2008). Shadow box with black ground , wood frame with gold gilt trim. Information stamped on reverse and signed by the artist. Presentation document attached on reverse. First the stamp reads: Mallard - ...a unique hand painted composition of relief sculpture and landscape created in it's entirety by an individual American artist and craftsman." Joseph Q. Whipple 12/79". Second, the presentation reads: This presentation to Past Chairmen and Presidents of NAM is the work of a hometown artist - Joseph Quinn Whipple of Canton, Ohio. The Whipple family, friends of Nancy Markley for almost 50 years, is well-known in the history of Canton. Whipple Avenue, the busiest street in the country, bears the family name. Joe's career as an outstanding artist spans more than 30 years. Whipple's wildlife shadow boxes were a regualr feature of the Abercrombie & Fitch catalogues for eleven years. Valued by collectors of original American art, his paintings are found in homes all over the United States as well as in the offices of business executives and bankers.
