JOURNAL of the SENATE of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA being the first session of the eighteenth congress begun and held AT THE CITY OF WASHINGTON December 1, 1823 and in the forty-eighth year of the independence of said United States Washington Printed by Gales & Seaton 1823 This is an amazing senatorial record in fantastic shape, t is an old ex-libris inside the front board, and t is a gash (not through) the leather in the front board. The book is tight! It has a very small burn mark on the front board, but in remarkable shape. T are different levels of foxing on the pages, it gets pretty dark (but legible) around the book center, but clears up. the boards have a diamond pattern embossed along the edge, and the spine title is as near perfect as possible. T is also a 1823-24 stamped on the middle of the spine. Not only is this an amazing example, it contains one of the earliest printings of The Monroe Doctrine, one of the most important pieces of legislature in this country's history. T is another copy of the same book online from a very reputable book dealer, that one is unbound and $750.00. This one is bound and priced to sell. These do not come up every day. I will insure this book! Don't miss out on this!!!!
