Offering an antique Jean Pouyat Limoges handpainted vase with irises and dragon handles made circa 1910. The vase stands 10 1/2" high and 9" across. Interesting mold, pillow shape with double handles designed as dragon figures, facing opposite directions. It is painted above the glaze all around with purple and white iris and green leaves. Dense purple background at the base lightens to a lavender as it moves up the vase. The handles and rim are gold paste, very rich. Signed Irva McGinty along one leaf. The green underglaze mark reads J. P. over L. France, the mark used by the Pouyat Porcelain Factory between 1891 and 1932. Excellent antique condition without chips or cracks. Excellent paint. A few very minor spots of thin gold paint.
