As Administratrix With Will Annexed of the Estate of JUDY GARLAND DE VINKO, Liza has a few thoughts on the subject. On Nov 22, 1978 she files papers of "COMPLAINT TO RECOVER POSSESSION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR DAMAGES - MISAPPROPRIATION OF RIGHT OF PUBLICITY, FOR PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION AND FOR TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER. Also filed on the same day is a MEMORANDUM OF POINTS AND AUTHORITIES IN SUPPORT OF TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER.From t on, the two documents reveal a series of interesting questions about who owns what, is all of the merchandise really attributable to ownership by Judy Garland personally, was it intended to be left in her estate, and furthermore, some of the items in the estate were an "offensive affront" to Judy due to being highly personal items.All was resolved between all parties, the sale proceeded, all is now history, and we are sure the new owner's of these "treasures" were also very happy.These two court documents are file copies but old file copies with nice age and yellowing.
