up for sale is this superb original Jugendstil woolen table cloth. It was designed and made in the early 1900's, and contains many typical designs and elements to attribute it to Henry van de Velde, who was famous for his textile designs.This object is in most excellent condition (no remarks !)It is a real museum piece that would also look great displayed on a wall (or as a carpet) !!
Dimensions : ca 145 x 120 cm Henry van de Velde (1863-1957) was a pioneer and an icon of the art nouveau / Jugendstil period (after the arts and crafts style & before the art deco era). He was one of the leading designers, together with, amongst others, Victor Horta, Gustave Serrurier-Bovy, Hector Guimard, Louis Majorelle, Peter Behrens, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Alphonse Mucha, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, Olbrich, ..
