Up for bid is a very rare and interesting estate find. Today I am listing a German made clock, by Junghans. Titled Ato...short for Atomic, this clock is a battery electric type, not transistorized. Research stated it was made in 1955.This clock runs with the use of a magnet, a coil and a battery. In ATO clocks, the coil is fixed to the frame and the magnet is curved to follow the arc of swing of the pendulum. In these clocks, the impulse, initiated by an electrical contact by the pendulum occurs on alternate swings or, as may be more correctly stated, once per oscillation. Numbers on the coil:1512000 Ohm1.5v Serial number is:318022Clock measures:11 inches tall8 inches roundBase of clock is tarnished. Along with spots of tarnish on brass tassels coverings. I believe these are original decorations.Clock face has Roman numerals on it.The clock appears to work...when you move the pendulum. However it is NOT working now. In my opinion, all it needs is a replacement battery. The clock is in very good condition. Also included is a glass dome. This dome is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or scratches. This clock is being sold, as is...as shown. I am no expert in clocks. I will try to answer all questions to the best of my knowledge. If t is any details you want pictures of, or questions...please ask before you bid. Good luck and
