A nice example of a highly pyritized large ammonite from Charmouth, Dorset UK. The species of ammonite is Eoderoceras, probably the most sought after ammonite from this location. The ammonite itself measures 45mm (1 3/4 inches) and the whole fossil including martix measures 60mm (2 1/2 inches). The ammonites has been polished and coated with laquer to bring out it's beautiful natural golden colour and shine. This fossil is around 195 million years old and would make a nice addition to any collection.
