THREE COLLECTIBLE POCKETKNIVES We're cleaning out grandparents & parents estates and found some pocketknives. I don't know much about them but will do my best to describe them. The KA-BAR knife has a black celluloid handle, is almost 5 inches long and the main blade is approximately 2 inches long. The shorter blade is about 1.5 inches long. My husband says both springs are weak opening and closing, but the blades are almost full with very little sharpening. The main blade is marked KA-BAR and the smaller blade is marked U.C.Co Olean, NY. It's a nice looking knife and other than the springs is in pretty good condition. The MAHER & GROSH pocketknife is about 6.5 inches long and the main blade is about 2.5 inches long. The shorter blade is about 2 inches. Both blades are marked MAHER & GROSH and the springs are good. The handle is a brown wood with an inlay shield. My husband says the blades are heavily sharpened. The HIBBARD SPENCER BARTLETT knife is very clearly marked on both blades, even though the pictures don't show it very well. It is also a wooden handle but does have a hole through the end - maybe for a missing bail. The main blade on this knife is mostly full but has been lightly sharpened. The springs are good. The small balde has been broken at the tip as you can plainly see. The open length of the knife is almost 6 read more
