Up for auction is a Ka-bar, union cut co. Zane Grey endorsed fish knife. Knife is the classic 2 blade toothpick pattern. Master blade tang is marked "Ka-bar" stainless, and acid etched "Endorsed by Zane Grey" on the front and "Stainless steel pat 1,788,650" on the back. The Secondary blade/hook disgorger is marked "Union Cut. Co. Olean N.Y. USA" on one side of the tang and "pat 1,788,650" on the other side. Hook sharpener embedded in the front handle has a crack in it but it is stable and not in danger of falling off any time soon. Yellow composition handles have some tiny nicks in them and zero rivet cracks, unusual on a knife of this age and handle material. Also though I can't quite confirm it the bolsters seem to be brass instead of nickel silver(?) maybe that was only on the Zane Grey model, I'm simply not sure. Knife is 5'' overall length with decent snap still left on both blades. Master blade has some scratches from light sharpening. Hard to find with the acid etching intact. Do see my other auctions for a Remington fixed blade fishing knife and other vintage and not-so vintage fishing stuff. THANKS!
Just a note to let folks know t is the slightest "tipping" to master blade hard to see from photos. Both blades have no side play in bolsters when opened. And in response to a few questions back handle is intact and has no rivet cracks. THANKS!
