Listed is single blade KA-BAR Union Cutlery Company Lock Blade Folding Hunter with Guard. It is KA-BAR pattern number 61107LG . The knife is tang stamped " KA-BAR " on the front and " UNION / CUT. CO. / OLEAN , N.Y. " on the back. The front stamping was struck somewhat poorly as it is strong on the left side but weaker on the right. That is, "KA-" is very strong but the remaining "BAR" is weak. Similarly, the stamping on the back is strong at the top right but a little weaker on the bottom left.The knife is 5 3/8 inches long closed and 9 5/8 inches long opened.It has a saber ground clip blade that has been sharpened and lightly cleaned. T is no blade loss from the light sharpening it has seen. It has the characteristic KA-BAR match striker pull on the blade.The folding guard is marked " PAT'D DEC. 4, 1923 ".It has very pretty jigged bone handles. The front handle has a crack running top to bottom through the center pin between the shield and bottom bolster as seen in the photos. The back scale is perfect.It has the famous KA-BAR marked dog's head shield .It has nickel silver bolsters and guard and brass liners.The knife opens and closes with a nice snap and locks in place perfectly.Other than the one cracked scale, this is a nice old knife that is otherwise in fine condition.
