Kachina Prt,MONGWA, Hopi artist Hoyesva, Motorola promo Search Wonderful print, "Mongwa"- Great Horned Owl Kachina of the Hopi tradition. These prints were done by Hopi artist, Hoyesva, and given as promotional gift by Motorola for sales of silicon transistors. Date from the 1960's, I believe. The print measures 11&1/2" X 8& 3/4" and is on nice quality weight paper. Each print comes with pamplet explaining the Kachina and his role in the dance. About the artist: Hoyesva, his Hopi name, was born and raised in Oraibi, AZ. Hoyesva, means 'arrow maker'in the Hopi language, and he is known for his careful attention to detail such as in this Kachina print.
