AMERICAN HOTEL, KALAMAZOO, MICH. , real photo postcard No. 20-15 published by E. E. Labadie, ca. 1908. This sharp, detailed real photo postcard shows the four-story hotel named THE AMERICAN in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan about 1908. A horse-drawn freight wagon , probably a beer delivery wagon , stands at the curb at center, while a street sweeper takes care of business at far left and a second freight wagon moves away at the edge of the image. Can anyone tell me w this hotel was located in Kalamazoo, and if it is still standing? A very handsome, atmospheric real photo postcard. Kalamazoo is the county seat of Kalamazoo County . Postally unused, with lengthy penciled message on reverse. Divided back, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". KARBO stamp box dates postcard to approx. 1908.
