Karastan Colonial Williamsburg Rug 553 Up for auction is a gorgeous oriental rug listed for sale. This rug is called the “Turkish Church Carpet”; style number CW 553. It was made by the Karastan Rug Company of North Carolina as part of the Colonial Williamsburg’s line of fine Oriental rug reproductions. This adaptation is of a 17 th or 18 th century Transylvania prayer rug. This pattern was named after the large number of such rugs found in churches in the Transylvania region of Romania. The colors are beautiful and are comprised of a pale yellow, rusty coral, blue, off white, brown and a little pink. The rug is made of 100% wool and measures 11 feet 9 inches in length, the fringe adds another 4 inches making the total length 12 feet 1 inches and the width is 8 feet 2 inches. The condition of the rug is outstanding. The fringe is 100% intact with no problems. The pile is nice and thick with no wear areas or paths. Binding is great. The colors are nice and bright. There are no rips, tears, or repairs to this lovely rug. There are no stains, odors or smells. It has the Karastan labels with the Colonial Williamsburg name and style number attached. I also have the mid size and small size verisons of this rug listed on ebay. We are known as The Biggs Company. We sell used reproduction pieces from well known makers such as Biggs, Norris, Kittinger, Baker, Henkel Harris, Suters, and Stickley along with other Colonial Williamsburg style furniture. We also sell such items as rugs from Karastan, Waterford and brass from Virginia Metalcrafters and Baldwin. We sell only on line and try to list at the best possible price to move the item. We have no showroom but if you are in the Richmond area you can come and see the items that are listed at the current time. We can deliver to certain areas for a small fee. We sell only in the contiguous 48 states. All items are listed to the best of our ability and are in used condition. Shipping will be the actual cost performed by UPS. The item can always be picked up in the West End of Richmond. Any returns must be communicated within 3 days of receiving the item. Full refund excluding shipping (to and from) will be the buyer’s responsibility per eBay guidelines.
