Hello... it has been awhile since I made a Corgi Dog Treat jar and they are always one of my favorite things to make. This particular jar is a new shape for me - it reminds me of a country crock canister. It was made from a mold, but has ridges on the sides that are usually found on a piece that was individually hand thrown on a wheel.I took the greenware canister's lid and attached a hand sculpted Pembroke Welsh Corgi 'cookie thief' complete with his own tiny "Good Dog Treats" jar. First I rolled out a small piece of clay to create the fringed rug. I used a different sculpting technique to make the Corgi's face a little more three dimensional with rounded cheeks and eyes in order to resemble a more robust food lover. Next I placed the Corgi in the center, holding the lid to the miniature cookie jar in one paw, while holding heart shaped cookies in the other paw. In his haste to eat as many as possible before getting caught, t are several lying around on the rug. If my Corgi Rupert had access to his own cookie jar it would definitely be empty all of the time! This piece underwent two high temperature kiln firings that produced a waterproof and food safe finish. It also comes with a rubber seal that is on the inside lip of the lid to help keep it airtight. The jar is medium in size measuring about 7" in diameter at the widest point, read more
