ARTIST: KATHY MULLIN of MULBEARY'S BEARS Kathy Mullin is an accomplished bear artist and needs no introduction. She's a well-known bear artist winning many awards, and featured in many books and publications. Accomplished artists take pride in putting their name on their work. As a result of that pride of workmanship, quality control is practiced throughout the entire process, not just at the end of an assembly line. All the details of stitching, jointing, stuffing, trimming and costuming are done in harmony with the capabilities of the bear maker, who knows how to create the entire bear, not just one part of the process. Joie is a unique and spectacular adult collectible bear. In his sitting position, he is approximately 14 inches in height; his head and legs are moveable. This fabulous bear’s body is mohair, he has glass eyes, “embroidered” nose and mouth, and his paws are ultra suede. He has a serene expression with a hint of a “Mona Lisa” smile that gives him all the personality you could ask for in a bear. Joie’s “minstrel” costume is fabulous and rich with detail. His hand-dyed, hand-quilted doublet, has satin sleeves, five “antique” buttons down the front and is complimented with imported metallic trim. This metallic trim also adorns the cuffs and his hat.
