When pulling a kayak down the trail with a common kayak cart the wheels can and do encounter rocks, ruts, mud holes, water holes, roots, stumps. sticks, logs, ect . Sometimes just a little tall grass is enough to foil some of the most expensive karts. With most all kayak karts a wheel that encounters such an obstacle is blocked from moving forward monentarly while the other wheel moves forward slightly. This hesitation of the one wheel to move forward causes the kart to become out of alignment with the kayak. The kart will now continually steer the kayak off the trail left or right thus not following you any longer, You will have to stop frequently and readjust the cart to align it again and again every time you have a wheel encounter debris. This can cause your kayak to scrap on trees, rocks, cars or anything left or right of the intended trail. The Trail Treker with Trail logic was designed to elimante those annoying frequent time consuming stops.
