" KAYSERZINN JUGENDSTIL ,ART NOUVEAU VESSEL / VASE with HANDLE "UNIQUE SHAPE" This wonderful vessel/vase is from the Art Nouveau Secessionist Period dating a circa 1900. This pewter was produced by Kayserzinn Pewter factory in Germany. Kayserzinn was one of the top pewter factories in Germany. In 1895 the company started using oval or round marks with the stamp Kayserzinn and numbered between 4001-4999. They stopped in 1925. I was told when I purchased this vessel/vase with handle it was the work of Hugo Levin. This unusual piece has a really unique shape very Art Nouveau in style and has a handle. It is round in shape on the sides but comes to a very sharp point in the middle on both sides. The sharpness runs from the top of the vessel to the bottom gradually getting sharper as it moves down the vessel (see photos 1, 4 and 6). The open top under the handle is lower in the middle getting higher on the sides, the handle is attached on the rounded sides (cross ways) w the top is higher. The size of this vessel/vase is as follows: height including handle 6 1/4", 4 5/8" in the front and back not including handle, 5 3/8" on the sides not including handle, 3 6/8" handle length from one side to the other, circumference at top of vessel 10 6/8", bottom circumference is 7 3/8" (flares out a bit at the very bottom) and the circumference
