Kelsey Murphy Burmese Cameo Carved Fairy Cruet Item Description : Sandcarved cameo glass by the famous artist Kelsey Murphy, this is a gorgeous Blue Burmese Glass cruet. Kelsey Murphy pieces in particular are very highly prized. The custard colored part of the glass has a slight bluish tinge to it. The detail of the cameo cutting is simply stunning and whimsical, showing a fairy on one side touching the surface of the water, and fern leaves and stems on the other. Even the handle is cameo cut, with what looks to me to be four very small winged fairies or butterflies. Burmese Glass contains pure gold which helps it to develop the pink blush, I'm not sure w the blue comes from, though. Kelsy Murphy has pieces of her work displayed in the Corning Museum of Glass, as well as in the White House. She is well known for her work with fine highly sought after Fenton work! This is a wonderful creation by Kelsey Murphy, and in Burmese it is absolutely stunning. Maker : The bottom is signed, "Kelsey, Made in Heaven", of course, referring to her Studio of Heaven. It is also signed Gibson Glass in a circle. Age Circa : Dated 2000 on the bottom. Size Measurements : about 8" tall to the top of the stopper, 6 1⁄2" to the spout, and 4" across including the handle. Condition : It is in excellent, undamaged condition, free of cracks, chips, flakes
