The collecter had a fairly large collection of decoys from all over the area he purchased during his travels in the late 60's early 70's from the best we could gather. Nothing in the collection was recent or contemperary. This is a Ken Harris solid Black Duck Decoy from Woodville, NY with the tell tale Harris Stamp on the bottom. I would like to think that Ken was somehow related but to the best of my knowledge he was no relation to our family Richard and Marion Harris who made decoys and worked for Wildfowler in Old Saybrook. This bird has some typical blemishes on the paint but nothing that detracts from the amazing comb painting detail. This is the best comb paint that I have ever seen on a Ken Harris bird and I would think it would be a MUST HAVE for the Ken Harris collector. I have spoken to several auction houses and appraisers and I have put what I feel is a very modest reserve on this decoy considering what it is. The market right now is on the low side for decoys so this decoy will only appreciate on value. Please as we have been on Ebay since 1998 and have always mainatained a 100% satisfaction rating!
